BDO Signs 15-Year Lease at Grand Rapids Innovation Park
BDO USA is making a move to the heart of downtown Grand Rapids, signing a 15-year lease for 35,265 square feet in the Doug Meijer Medical Innovation Building as part of the growing Grand Rapids Innovation Park. The new office, located at 109 Michigan St. NW, is designed to enhance collaboration, support talent recruitment, and deliver a top-tier employee experience. Amenities will include a rooftop deck and flexible workspaces, with the build-out expected to be completed by spring 2026.
“We are thrilled to be part of Grand Rapids Innovation Park,” said Katie Ferris, Tax Market Managing Principal at BDO. “This move reflects our commitment to excellence in the employee experience and continuing to deliver exceptional service.”
This relocation keeps BDO anchored in downtown Grand Rapids while positioning the firm inside the Doug Meijer Medical Innovation Building, one of the city’s premier hubs for cutting-edge business and research. Surrounded by innovation-driven tenants like BAMF Health and Twisthink, and located next to Michigan State University’s research center, the space fosters collaboration at the intersection of business, technology, and science. It’s a setting designed for companies focused on the future—making it a natural fit for BDO’s forward-thinking approach.
An Award-Winning Transaction
The lease has already earned major recognition in the commercial real estate industry. Mary Anne Wisinski-Rosely, SIOR, CCIM, and Jason Makowski, SIOR, of NAI Wisinski of West Michigan represented BDO in the transaction. Their outstanding work on the deal earned two top honors:
- 2024 Acquisition of the Year – West Michigan (CoStar)
- 2024 Top Office Lease Transaction in Michigan (SIOR Global)
Health Innovation Partners, the developer of Grand Rapids Innovation Park, was represented by Jeff Karger and Sarah Noordyke of JLL, with additional representation for BDO from executives at Avison Young.
BDO’s relocation is not only a strategic business move, it’s a clear sign of momentum in downtown Grand Rapids, where forward-thinking companies are shaping the future of innovation and workplace excellence.
