Meet Aricka Gannon!

What job did you do previously? What led you to the commercial real estate industry?

“For most of my career, I have worked in the architecture and interior design industry developing marketing collateral and proposals for boutique and large-scale design firms. Architecture and commercial real estate, while very different fields, have a lot of similarities and often work together. The decision to move to CRE felt like a natural transition, but still offered the challenge of learning a new industry.”

What do you like most about working with NAI?

“Obviously, the people are great. Everyone is nice and genuinely seems to care about each other. It’s unique to consistently experience kindness in a fast-paced work environment.

Beyond the people, I enjoy working for one of the biggest CRE companies in the region. Being new to the industry, I consider myself lucky to work with people who carry this level of commercial real estate experience and knowledge.”

What does a “day-in-the-life” look like for you?

“It’s cliché, but it’s true: every day is different.

A lot of my time is spent researching – accuracy is critical in this industry – and creating collateral from those findings for multifamily-focused reports and listings. Our multifamily team always has a few projects in the works, so we try to maintain constant and consistent communication between team members to move projects along and deliver the results our clients expect.”

What’s your most memorable work experience?

“Two things stick out to me. One, is the first presentation (first for me) of a valuation our team delivered to a client. I was impressed with the knowledge of our team, and proud of the product we delivered to our client. The multifamily directors, Scott and Kevin, have a ton of experience and detailed industry knowledge and I really enjoyed listening to their presentation of their property valuation.”

The second memorable experience was volunteering as a firm at Beer City Dog Biscuits. It was great to learn about an organization with an impactful mission and connect with people in the office that I don’t usually have the opportunity to speak to. NAI provides volunteer opportunities like this one throughout the year, and I look forward to attending more.

What do you enjoy doing in your free time?

“I’m an avid reader, and sometimes a writer. I enjoy an intense workout, going to the beach, checking out what’s new around the city and revisiting the spots around town I’ve grown to love (like the Winchester).”

My favorite part of real estate is…

“In general, I like to know what’s happening and what’s anticipated in the community. You get a first look at what’s coming when you work in commercial real estate. I find it exciting. It makes me feel more invested in our community.”
