In college, I worked as a phone host at Pizza Hut. During my first day on the job after I finished a task, I would ask the manager “What can I do next?”. After asking this same question a few times, the manager’s response was “Kara, stop asking me what to do, and just do it.” This advice shaped my mentality at a young age to embrace a pro-active approach vs. a reactive one.
